Smart Cabinet

During Covid-19 we have learnt about sanitising our hands. Having the same concept in mind, Robotics and automation Lab CT University develop a smart Cabinet for Medicines. The prototype was developed with the help of Satyam Gupta and Gurkirat under the Guidance of Dr. Harmeet Singh, Deputy Director IPR Cell. The main feature of the smart cabinet is that it only opens if the persons sanitise the hand first, then after 20 seconds, the cabinet opens. After taking the medicine from the cabinet person has to sanitise again to close the cabinet. UV light is placed inside the cabinet to sanitise the inner area. Dr. Harmeet Singh added, “The Smart Cabinet is patented and the unique feature is that blind people can use this cabinet very easily. For blind people, the sub cabin will come out and blind people can take the particular medicine. ” The whole is connected to the internet. There is an OLED screen that displays the temperature, humidity and sanitiser countdown to the users. Future work will be adding a small refrigeration unit to maintain the temperature inside the cabinet. The main application is in hospitals, small clinics and even in houses.
