CICU is registered as a non-profit making society, which represents Industry & Trade Sectors of the State of the Punjab Since 1968. Presently, we have direct membership of more than 1200 enterprises and indirect membership of 13,000 enterprises of 34 different associations affiliated with us as Associate Members. CICU have Achieved National / State Level Winner as Responsible BMO by Foundation for MSME Cluster, New Delhi. It also has been accredited as Silver Standard by Quality Council of India, New Delhi and National Accreditation Board for Education & Training (NABET). CICU is also recognized by the Ministry of Commerce & Exports (Govt. of India).
Confederation of Indian Industry
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering Industry, Government and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, with over 9000 members from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 300,000 enterprises from 294 national and regional sectoral industry bodies. For more than 125 years, CII has been engaged in shaping India’s development journey and works proactively on transforming Indian Industry’s engagement in national development. CII charts change by working closely with Government on policy issues, interfacing with thought leaders, and enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and business opportunities for industry through a range of specialized services and strategic global linkages. It also provides a platform for consensus-building and networking on key issues.
FEDERATION OF INDIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
Established in 1927, FICCI is the largest and oldest apex business organisation in India. Its history is closely interwoven with India’s struggle for independence, its industrialization, and its emergence as one of the most rapidly growing global economies. A non-government, not-for-profit organisation, FICCI is the voice of India’s business and industry. From influencing policy to encouraging debate, engaging with policy makers and civil society, FICCI articulates the views and concerns of industry. It serves its members from the Indian private and public corporate sectors and multinational companies, drawing its strength from diverse regional chambers of commerce and industry across states, reaching out to over 2,50,000 companies. FICCI provides a platform for networking and consensus building within and across sectors and is the first port of call for Indian industry, policy makers and the international business community.
National Institute of Personnel Management
National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), is the only all India body of professional managers engaged in the profession of Human Resource Management, ,Industrial Relations, Labour Welfare, and Training & Development in the country. It came in to existence on 15th March 1980 as a result of merger of two professional institutions, namely the Indian Institute of Personnel Management (IIPM) established in 1948 in Kolkata and the National Institute of Labour Management (NILM) established in 1950 in Bombay, now Mumbai. With its National Office at Kolkata, NIPM has a total membership of about 10,000 spread over 53 Chapters all over the country. NIPM is a nonprofit making body devoted to building professional excellence in the field of Human Resource Management through regular activities ranging from Evening Lectures to People Process Quality Certifications. Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management (PGDPM), the 2 years flagship academic programme of NIPM is widely recognized by industries in India for a career in HRM.
PHD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 1905, is a proactive National Apex Chamber working at the grass-root level and with strong national and international linkages.The Chamber acts as a catalyst in the promotion of industry, trade and entrepreneurship. PHD Chamber, through its research-based policy advocacy role, positively impacts the economic growth and development of the nation.PHD Chamber is more than an organisation of the business community, as it lives by the chosen motto In Communitys Life & Part of It and contributes significantly to socio-economic development and capacity building in several fields. ‘’PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry(PHDCCI) is one of the Premier Chambers in India to have been accredited with “Diamond Grade” by NABET(QCI), at national and international level.
The Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association
The Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (SGMEA) is a registered body of the sports goods manufacturers. Though the membership of the Association is limited to about 65 firms, they are the leading exporters of sport equipments and have a share of nearly 70% of the export from the country and have more than 50% home market as well to their credit. The Association members, predominantly from Jalandhar, lead in manufacturing technology for sports goods and some are manufacture of world class equipment. The Association has a full time office executive, who coordinates various activities of the Association. SGMEA regularly conduct interactive meets, seminars and workshops on technology and market related issues. The Association publishes a house journal named Voice which contains valuable information about the sports industry. This is widely circulated to all Sports Federations, Associations, Foreign Embassies in India and to all Indian Embassies and Consulates overseas. SGMEA has been identified as a nodal cluster level institution for the development of Jalandhar sports goods cluster, keeping in view the capacity of its members to excel.
