In this Pandemic Situation, we all are taking precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus. We all wearing N-95 masks, gloves, avoiding social gathering and Sanitizing hand after touching the potential COVID-19 contaminated surfaces. But what if there is no need to touch the contaminated surfaces directly with the hand. For this there are gloves in the market, but everyone are not comfortable with those gloves. Having all this in mind, Robotics and Automation Lab of CT University has developed a 3D Printed Covid-19 Safety key. This key can work on L and U-Shaped door handles. This Safety key can be used on ATM buttons, Lift buttons and even on toilet flush buttons. The main idea behind this key is that if we are going to any crowed places like malls, hospitals and banks, then this key will protect us from Covid-19 by keeping our hand away from any potential contaminated surfaces. Dr. Harmeet Singh, Assistant Professor added, “There are so many Safety keys are present in the market and even 3D designs are there on the internet, but we have made the design according to our requirement. This key will eliminate the hand contact on potentials COVID -19 Contaminated surfaces and it will reduce  the usage of the sanitizer to greater extent as we have to just sanitize the safety key very few times as compared to sanitizing the hand after every contact”. The cost of the key is less 50 rupees which very less as compared to the keys present in the market.
