Why PME is Important?


PME is a management tool that can be used to validate programme existence and adjust research agenda for enhanced effectiveness especially, in case of an innovative research ideas or demand in current public domain.

Functions of PME Cell


  • Effective Management of University’s in-house projects.
  • networked, grant-in-aid as well as collaborative R&D projects.
  • involve in promoting, maintaining and monitoring the progress of in-house research projects.
  • externally funded projects.
  • Contractual as well as ad- hoc research projects.
  • To coordinate and arrange for annual monitoring of each on-going projects and evaluation of completed projects through internal and external experts.
  • To coordinate and arrange for technology validation and/or impact assessment of successful technology as claimed by scientist(s)/principal investigator through internal and external experts.
  • Regularly provide guidance and motivation to faculty members as well as students regarding the current areas of research of their domain.
  • Current information related to national/international conferences, travel grants.
  • Grants from National Funding Agencies such as DST, DBT, DRDO,DSIR, AYUSH, ICAR, ICMR, MSME and many more.
  • Regular meetings with HOS’s and research coordinators for proper functioning of research oriented activities in the University.
  • Maintaining the database on all publications, technology transferred/developed, IPRs, consultancies, completed and on going research projects.
  • Preparing and submitting the Annual report of PME Cell to Honor’ble Vice Chancellor, CT University

Dr Rajiv Sharma

Deputy Director, PME Cell

Dr Rajiv Sharma has 12 years of Experience in Teaching and Research. His areas of Specialization is Design, Synthesis and Evaluation of Novel Platinum (II) based Complexes;  Development of  Azo based Prodrugs of Different Anti-cancer Agents for Colon Cancer; Biodegradable Polymers; Design and Development of Polymer-drug conjugates for colon targeted drug delivery. He has completed Govt funded Research Projects such as RPS-AICTE and many industrial related projects. He has more than 30 publications in highly impact National as well as International Journals. He Organized, participated and chaired sessions in Webinars, conferences and Seminars. He supervised 15 Post graduates, 10 Under graduates and 9 Research Scholars are doing Ph.D. under his supervision.  He is active member of Professional bodies such as APTI, IPGA . He is also an IIC Innovation Ambassador, MHRD He is Deputy Director of PME (Priority Monitoring and Evaluation Cell), President of Innovation Cell, Nodel officer for ARIIA, and incharge of Business Incubator for MSME at CT University.

Dr. Harmeet Singh

Dr. Harmeet Singh is an extremely hardworking individual known for his skills in Robotics and Automation.He got his Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Computer Applications. Then he went to Italy fora PhD in Bio-Robotics from ScuolaSuperioreSant’Anna University. During his PhD, he was also a visiting researcher atthe University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK.Now he is mentoring students for innovative projects and helps them to reach the next level of their potentialat CT University. He is also an IIC Innovation Ambassador, MHRD.He has an experience of more 3 years in research and academics. He has published 11 papers in international journals and conference. While in CT University, he has made projects like Prosthetic Hand, prosthesis finger, Agriculture robot, Drawing Robot, All-terrain robot, etc. He has also filed two patents in the past six months.

His background and areas of expertise reside in Signal Processing and Machine Learning, with particular emphasis on biosignal and multi-dimensional signals. Hiscurrent research interests are in Signal Processing and Machine Learning for Autonomous Systems and Human-Machine Interaction; Biosignal Driven Intelligent Systems and Healthcare. He is currently supervisingseveral PhD students working on different projects. He is also the Project Head of ROBONOVA CT University startup.

Dr Kavita Sharma

Active Member, PME Cell

Dr Kavita Sharma is having 18.7 years of Teaching Experience. She has 16 Research Paper Publication in Journals; she contributed chapters in three books and has 1 article to her credit. She has attended & participated in 8 National, 2 International Conferences, 6 Seminars, 2 Workshops and 10 Faculty Development Programs. She organized one FDP of PTU, 4 EDP’s and 4 MDP’s of Ministry of Small Medium Enterprises, New Delhi in her career. She is National Doctoral Fellowship Awardee by AICTE. She got appreciation award by ZIIEI and MSME-DI, Ludhiana twice for her contribution in Incubation and organizing EDP’s and MDP’s. She is life time member of PCMA. She is PTU Authorized Human Value Specialist and Resource person of MSME-DI Ludhiana. She is Six Sigma Green Belt holder. She is also SAP Certified. She is also taking care of Foreign Affairs Cell and Core member of Priority Monitoring and Evaluation Cell and IIC cell of MHRD at CT University. She is Vice President of Incubation Centre of MSME. She teaches in the area of Finance.

Er. Jaspreet Singh

Er. Jaspreet Singh is an intellectual & entrepreneur having expertise in automation, automotive &design domains. He have completed his Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Technical University. He is founder of a technology start-up SRG Research Private Limited focused to provide automation solutions to machine tool industry and also awarded with financial aid of Rupees 8 Lakh for entrepreneurship promotion by Ministry of MSME. With entrepreneurship mindset and a vision to “to create more job providers rather than job seekers” he worked hard with his team to establish “RICE – Research & Innovation Centre for Excellence”. He is core member of PME cell, IPR cell & Entrepreneurship cell. With his team he have built precision 3D printers and CNC machinery to set-up Rapid Prototyping facility at CT University. Under his guidance student teams have designed and developed various innovative & patentable projects and bagged awards innational level Technology Expos and Start-up competitions. He have been recently enrolled asconsultant and development partner with TATA Motors and working upon various IndustryInstitutional collaborative research projects.
