Approval by AICTE
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a statutory body brought into existence by an act of Indian Parliament. AICTE is the apex, approving and regulatory body for technical courses being run by the technical institutions of higher education. As per the ruling of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Bharathidasan University vs AICTE, the Universities are not under the purview of the AICTE for granting approval to them for running technical courses. Under clause (k) section 10 of AICTE Act universities do not require AICTE approval for running technical courses. Only institutions which are affiliated to universities require this approval. |
