CT University Inaugurates Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum of History, Culture, and Archaeology

The Department of Humanities and Physical Education at CT University proudly inaugurated the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum of History, Culture, and Archaeology. The museum was unveiled in the esteemed presence of Chairman Charanjit Singh Channi, Vice Chairman Mr. Harpreet Singh, Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhishek Tripathi, and Dean Academics and Principal of the School of Law, Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill, alongside the Davinder Singh, Director of the Department of Student Welfare.

The dignitaries, along with other guests, took a walkthrough of the museum, which offers a rich and immersive encounter with history, showcasing the journey from the past to the present. Chancellor Charanjit Singh Channi emphasized the significance of museums, stating, "Museums collect and preserve objects and materials of religious, cultural, and historical value. They are a vital source of knowledge, preserving the achievements of the past through sculptures, coins, pottery, and more."

Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhishek Tripathi highlighted that museums play a crucial role in preserving and promoting cultural heritage. Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill echoed this sentiment, adding, "Museums are the guardians of our collective human experience. This museum presents information about the past in a chronological order, ensuring that our history is well preserved and understood."

The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, designed by Dr. Seema Parihar, Associate Professor of History, boasts over 200 esteemed artifacts, including pottery, sculptures, terracottas, coins, and other metalwork, which collectively showcase the development of art and architecture across different periods of history. The museum also features a Wall of National Movement, highlighting the struggle for independence, as well as a stunning display of student artwork from various streams including BA, BA Hons, and BALLB. This artwork, in the form of assignments, fabric paintings, and other projects, reflects the creativity and academic prowess of CT University’s students.
