CT University Students Gain Firsthand Experience at Punjab Police Academy

On 06 November 2024, a group of students from CT University had the unique opportunity to visit the esteemed Punjab Police Academy in Phillaur. The visit was part of an educational initiative to provide students with a firsthand understanding of the rigorous training and operational framework that shapes the law enforcement professionals of tomorrow. During the visit, the 50 students and 2 faculty members, were introduced to the academy’s world-class facilities, which include specialized training zones, mock crime scenes, and advanced laboratories designed to simulate real-life law enforcement scenarios although with this students had visited Finger print Beuro, Traffic wing, Cyber cell, Forensic Science laboratory and Museum (crime and weapon gallery).The students observed various aspects of police training, from physical fitness and tactical drills to theoretical lessons on criminal law, investigation techniques, and community policing. The highlight of the visit was an interactive session with faculty members and trainee officers, where the students gained valuable insights into the academy’s curriculum and its emphasis on integrity, ethical conduct, and professional development. The academy’s commitment to fostering a well-rounded law enforcement professional was evident in the discussions, which touched upon the importance of mental resilience, leadership, and community engagement in modern policing.
This visit was an eye-opening experience for the students and an invaluable opportunity for them to engage with future law enforcement leaders and understand the role of institutions like the Punjab Police Academy in maintaining law and order across the state. CT University students left the academy inspired and enriched with knowledge about the challenges and responsibilities of policing. The visit is a testament to the university’s commitment to providing students with practical learning experiences that complement their academic pursuits and prepare them for various professional paths.
